Event Details
Social media's emphasis on sharing has encouraged developers to create public APIs* so that engineers across the world can create supplemental applications from the API. Our panel will highlight a couple companies which are using APIs to support their customers, extend their brands, and provide all with innovative new products.
Whether you are in marketing, customer service, engineering or accounting, everyone should have an understanding around how APIs work and the potential for developing services to better connect with your customers.
*APIs (application programming interface) are sets of protocols which allow developers to build products off of an existing application.
Join SMCSFO Tuesday May 15th, 2012, at Mashery SF for a facinating panel on Social APIs!

Murray McKerlie, Co-Founder and VP Sales & Marketing, Whit.li
At Whit.li, our goal is simple- to give the app developer a magic button that elevates only the most relevant content and people to your customers, readers, or community. In geek speak - our API creates a "Relevancy Rating" by analyzing content created by your community of customers. Included are rare interests, derived demographics, overall and trending sentiment, and unique personality traits. Once you have this profile, you can match it to other people in context, or determine the profile of the "fanboy" for your content or brand, then match it to others in your community.
